There are many well-known bazaars in Petaling Jaya that have popped up over the years. This article will share the information with anyone interested in visiting them.
First and foremost, Green Daun is not a bazaar organizer, as we are a platform that shares information with our readers. We once used to participate in bazaars many years ago, and now we have our own boutique craft shop.
Please note that this article shares my personal point of view as, over the years, I have been to all the bazaars mentioned here.
As a potential vendor, you decide on what you want, and as a potential visitor, it is entirely your call on which bazaar you want to visit.
Bazaars in Petaling Jaya
Petaling Jaya or PJ is the satellite city of Kuala Lumpur and is heavily populated, which results in a good consumer market. Because of this, there are many bazaars in Petaling Jaya that are doing very well.
However, there are too many bazaars happening at once, which makes it competitive for the vendors. Many years ago, when there were just a couple of bazaars happening, vendors could see the potential in doing business at these bazaars.
Nowadays, bazaars at shopping malls in Petaling Jaya are common, and there is one happening almost every weekend here. Below is a list of bazaars in Petaling Jaya listed down with the contact information.
1. Amcorp Mall Bazaar and Flea Market -This is the mother of all bazaars and flea markets in Malaysia. They have been around for 20 years and is known as a collectable bazaar because of the antiques and toys found on the lower ground and first floor of the mall.
However, they also have the general bazaar located on all three levels, open to other vendors. But the Amcorp management is very strict with their vendors, so you will not find the rubbish vendors here.

You will find a lot of clothes being sold here, namely for women and kids. Other items include phone accessories, toys, jewellery and sometimes a few interesting items. The organizers have been around since 2012, making them one of the pioneer organizers.

3. The Starling Mall Bazaar – In 2018, this shopping mall in Damansara Utama has been home to numerous bazaars and is currently one of the most popular bazaars in Petaling Jaya.
Bazaars are happening almost every weekend, but the Starling Mall bazaar caters more towards the conservative Petaling Jaya consumers.
This means that you will get a curious customer, but it is not as easy as you think in terms of conversion.
Petaling Jaya people are wise with their spending; hence, you need to have a good product to captivate them, and many vendors tend to get this wrong.
Various groups usually organize the bazaar here, and different vendors are seen participating, offering various items.
Organizer: Various Organizers
Days: Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun
Price: Varies, from RM200 to RM250 per day

4. The Curve Weekend Bazaar @ Le Tresor Market – Another pioneer bazaar that has been around for years is the Curve Weekend Bazaar held at The Street area of the mall. This bazaar takes place on Saturdays and Sundays only.
The bazaar has evolved over the years, and have a steady group of vendors are seen selling a bit of everything from fresh fruits, clothes, accessories, phone casings, trinkets, shoes, bags, badges and so on.
You can browse through about 50 vendors along the street here, but the bad thing is that they always have the same vendors for years. The bad thing is that you will see almost 90% of the same vendors week after week.
Occasionally, if you are lucky, you will see a few new vendors coming and going. When it rains, the vendors close as it is held outdoors.

5. eCurve Bazaar – At one time, this bazaar was organized by I Love Bazaar by RylDesigns and occupied a fairly large area at the lower ground floor at eCurve, the lifestyle mall next to The Curve Shopping Mall.
However, over the years, things have changed, and now the bazaar is still taking place, but on the left section once you walk in the main entrance of eCurve.
If you are lucky, you will see about 10 to 15 vendors selling many cute plastic-wrapped toys, clothes, household items and accessories. Nothing out of the ordinary or nothing that makes you want to come here.

6. Jaya One Bazaar @ The Square – A long time running bazaar in Petaling Jaya is the Jaya One Markets or Markets at Jaya One.
The original Markets at Jaya One bazaar takes place four times a year, every three months, and is organized by Jaya One themselves. This is the original concept which sees a pretty good turnout.
Other independent organizers take the remaining slots to manage their own bazaars, as they have their own following. However, it is best to double check if there is a bazaar taking place on the weekend you want to visit.
Organizer: Various
Days: Sat and Sun
Time: 10.00 AM till 7.00 PM
Price: Varies from the organizer

7. Jaya Shopping Center Bazaar – Since the re-opening of the Jaya Shopping Center a few years ago, this place has been having it hard to get tenants in, but on the ground floor, there are bazaars taking place from time to time.
With a very local turnout for crowds, most people park their cars in Jaya Shopping Center and head to Digital Mall. This means the consumer is just passing the mall, and if you are lucky, they may stop.
But then again, it depends where the bazaar is being organized. If it is near the entrance area, then visibility will be better, but pure luck is held anywhere else in the mall. Not every weekend there are bazaars, so best to check before going.

8. Atria Shopping Mall Bazaar – Located on the top floor of the revamped shopping mall in Damansara Jaya, the Atria bazaar is relatively small, with only about 10 to 15 vendors. This community shopping mall is usually frequented by the Damansara residents living around the area.
If you are looking for very general consumer products, you could give this place a try as vendors are seen selling clothes, soap products, jewellery and toys here. Nothing out of the ordinary, and at times, the bazaar is tranquil.
Another organizer called OMG Pop Up Bazaar is also having a bazaar on the ground floor of Atria and for Saturday and Sundays. They have the ground floor space, which is much more practical.

9. Setia Walk Puchong Bazaar – Over in the Puchong part of Petaling Jaya, you will find Setia Walk, a community lifestyle mall that tends to attract a local crowd from those living around this part of Puchong.
The bazaar that takes place here is called Urban Yard. My last visit to this bazaar was in late 2017, and judging from the look, this bazaar caters mainly to the people from around here.
Items being sold are very consumer-related, like clothes, accessories, jewellery, food, handmade soap, toys, etc. You will not find anything special or out of the ordinary here.

One organizer called Pasar Artisan will organize a pop-up store in August 2018, and from the looks, it is a retail outlet space that is converted into a unique pop-up store for around 40 traders. Their focus is on fashion and artisans; hence you will see handmade craft and private labels here.

The mall is still doing well with the Aeon supermarket; hence, the bazaar usually holds neat access to the supermarket.
Most locals will know this place as Tropicana City Mall, but apparently, it is also called 3 Damansara Mall. Well, various bazaar organizers hold weekend bazaars here from time to time.
