Amcorp Mall Flea Market
The oldest flea market and bazaar in Malaysia is no other than Amcorp Mall in Petaling Jaya. Running for 16 years now, many people think Amcorp Mall is purely a flea market and sells only antiques and collectables located on the lower ground floor.
But if you explore the entire mall, especially on Sundays, you will find many other vendors from the first to the third floor, selling all kinds of interesting things.
A lot of pre-loved items are also found here. This tourist attraction is also the cheapest bazaar and market in Malaysia, and a strict admission for vendors is observed as the mall management manages it.

Bazaar at Ikano Power Centre (IPC)
One of the latest bazaars to open in Mutiara Damansara, bringing the number of bazaars to four in just one area. Apparently, this place attracts many people on weekends, simply due to IKEA and Kidzania being located in the area.
There is also a Tesco and two hotels in the vicinity. Ikano Power Center is opposite The Curve and is connected by an overhead walkway and an underground walkway.
Since the Ikano Power Centre Bazaar is new, you will find a mix of vendors selling jewellery, clothes, shoes and home decorations. Still, as bazaars take time to be established, the vendors may change every week. Update: This Ikano Bazaar was only a one-time event as the response was not good and is no longer there.

Bazaar at Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur
Called the Handmade Market at Berjaya Times Square, this event is organized by I Love Bazaar and is held on the second weekend of the month.
But you need to check with the organisers as they do not do it monthly. The location is a little hard to find, but you need to go towards the East wing of Berjaya Times Square and head to the second floor and walk in a little. Vendors here sell mostly handmade items, and some of them are pretty good too.
But again, sometimes, these vendors move around and may not be there the next time around. You won’t find useless items or commercial items here, well from the last time we visited this place; there was none.

Bazaar at Sunway Giza
The Sunway Giza Bazaar has been around since early 2016. It has attracted quite a bit of vendor here as the entire Giza area is themed as an entertainment hub with many restaurants, cafes, bars and even the Village Grocer as the anchor tenant.
The main outdoor foyer area sees high traffic and other events held, attracting people from around Kota Damansara and its surroundings. Most vendors here are Chinese vendors selling clothes, jewellery, toys, new age collectables, phone accessories, and sometimes other items.

Bazaar at Sunway Nexis Shopping Mall
Since they announced the new Sunway Nexis Mall in early 2016, the response has been slow for tenants to move in, leaving a huge open space in the main mall area. One company tried to organize the Sunway Nexis Container Flea Market with a concept that has done very well in other countries.
The event took place in early January and February of 2016, but it did not continue after that. We wonder why but suspect the rental price is too high, which turned away bazaar vendors. But there is talk of another Sunway Nexis Bazaar that will start in 2017, but nothing is confirmed. Until it is announced, we will leave this blank.

Now for the Christmas and year-end holidays in Malaysia, there are bazaars held there so those in the area can check them out. However, please note that you will not be getting the city type vendors there, but more towards the Muslim community and products.

Bazaar at SACC Mall Shah Alam
In Shah Alam, the main places that many love to organize bazaars are either at SACC Mall or PKNS Building in the city centre here. Markets and bazaars have been organised here since 2012 but again, most of the time, just one-off.
However, many local bazaars also are very active during the festive season, especially during Hari Raya. A new Bazaar at SACC Mall called Weekend Market at SACC Mall Shah Alam is now ongoing with your usual bazaar type items being sold here.
This means you will not find anything unique other than clothes, accessories and general items.

Bazaar at Da Men Mall USJ Subang
A new concept called Container Art Box is set to open at Da Men Shopping Mall in USJ 1, Subang Jaya. This concept also takes the lead from other successful worldwide container markets, attracting visitors purely for unique items being sold.
However, at the Container Art Box in Da Men, we are still unsure who the vendors are as they will launch the first-weekend market at Da Men Mall this 16 to 18 December 2016.
We are curious to see what kind of vendors will take up the container lots and how this affects traffic.

Many other smaller bazaars are being held in other shopping malls, but most of them are mainly targeting the festive season. The prominent ones are highlighted here for the Klang Valley; therefore, if you are looking for something to do on the weekend, visit some of the bazaars listed here.
Again, it is always best to go early, as, at some bazaars, vendors tend to close earlier than stated. We are also working on an article about Bazaar Economics in Malaysia where we talk about market trends, situations, and what will happen.
You will notice that the trendy shopping malls like One Utama Shopping Centre, Mid Valley Mega Mall and Pavilion Shopping Centre in KL does not offer bazaars or markets.
There is a so-called reason behind this as some of these malls do not want the place looking like a ‘Pasar Malam’ or night market and protect their tenants’ interest.
You should know that most markets or bazaars do not have strict control over their vendors, resulting in anything-also-can-sell vendors selling items really cheap, which affects the main retail shops business.
Conclusion
The above is compiled in December of 2016, and if there are any corrections or additions, please do let us know through the contact form.
Also, if you are a bazaar organizer and want to include your bazaar here, please contact us. We hope you have found this list helpful and that you will go and visit some of the bazaars at shopping malls here in PJ and KL.
