Nanyang Art Supplies in Kuala Lumpur

For all kinds of papers and Chinese art supplies, this is the place to visit as they sell items individually and wholesale. Nanyang Art is also one of the pioneer art supply shops in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur, and has been around for over 25 years.

Some say Nanyang Art is the best place to find all kinds of papers. You can also find Chinese art supplies, brushes, embellishments (China types), canvas cloth, paints and other miscellaneous items.

Venus Art in Kuala Lumpur

A serious pioneer in the art supply scene, Venus Art has been around for more than 30 years, and you can find most of the premium brands, which are, of course, imported prices. A lot of art students come here to find their art materials.

Generally, this is your one-stop art shop selling all kinds of brushes, ink, papers and so on. They also carry a variety of Chinese art supplies, which include the unique sable horse hair brushes.

T-Square in Central Market

Another pioneer art and stationery supplies shop in Kuala Lumpur is T-Square, which sells some of the widest selections of paints and brushes. Local Malaysian artist love coming here too.

You can find all kinds of brushes, paint colours, pens, markers, canvases, papers, hardcovers and all sorts of stationery. They also provide binding, laminating and framing services, located just next to Central Market Kuala Lumpur.

Master Art Shop

Master Art is located at two places, one in Section 2, Shah Alam and the better one at Street Mall, Cyberjaya, next to Putrajaya and about 30-45 minutes from KL or PJ.

If you live in this area, then it is worthwhile to come here as they sell canvases, watercolour paints, art brushes and more a lot of painting materials (China grades and not professional ones).

Multifilla

Located 30 minutes out of KL is Multifilla art supplies in a warehouse-style in Balakong, Selangor. At this place, we are talking about the Tesco of art supplies in Klang Valley, meaning they also do wholesale, selling individual items or in large quantities.

In general, they have many items here catering to all kinds of art and crafts, local and imported ones. Location wise, it is quite far from PJ or even the city centre, but if you are doing an event and need lots of materials, this is the place to go.

WestStar Art Shop

With two outlets, one in Shah Alam and the main one in Taman Melawati, KL, this art supply shop provides reasonable pricing, plus they offer a members card for discounts.

Generally, they sell a wide variety of art supplies, stationeries and markers here, and their new products are pottery tools, sculpting tools and metal clay dipping tools. So if you are into the pottery craft, you can find the tools here.

Craftiviti Craft Shop 10 Boulevard

All the niche supplies you need for craft – woodworking, candle and soap making, airbrush, ceramic, pyrography, props making. They even have chemicals in bulk. If you are looking for resin, this is the place to visit.

Premier Art Publika

Located at Publika, this is probably the only art shop in Publika Shopping Mall that sells art supplies like brush markets, pro markers, dip pens, colour pencils, paper pads and blocks, Liquitex, watercolours, watercolour papers, colouring book, face paints and others.

Check with Premier Art Publika about the opening times as they have different hours compared to other shops.

Craft Haven

Opened in 2003 in the new wing of One Utama Shopping Mall is Craft Haven, which sells hemp twines, brushes, wires, punchers and many other things related to scrapbooking and card making.

You can also find stickers, markers, stamps, sketchbooks as well. But note that majority of the things here are imported, hence priced on the higher side. Craft Haven is also one of the scrapbooking shops in Malaysia.

Art Friend

With three main branches in KL and PJ, this art megastore which hails from Singapore, sells many imported items and prices are….. you guessed it, imported prices. But you can find just about anything related to art here.

The company has been around since the early ’80s, so they know their game, meaning they know what the industry is looking for. For fine art lovers, you can find most of the items here. This is one of the largest art supplies shops in PJ and KL.

They are opening a new outlet at Pavilion Bukit Bintang shopping mall at the end of June 2017. This brings the number of outlets to three in the Klang Valley.

Known as one of the modern-day art and stationery supply shops in the Klang Valley, CZipLee is a household name for most city people. They carry a wide array of art and stationery supplies from all over the world and very reasonable prices.
